Contemplating Whether To Join Or Not Join MLM
When considering the possibility of whether or not to join MLM, (aka “network marketing”) opportunities, there are a number of things to keep in mind. First and foremost; is it a true MLM company with a real product or service? Or is it just a pyramid recruitment program?
Genuine multi-level marketing (MLM) opportunities always have actual products and/or services that are valuable, that people would pay for, even without the money making potential being involved. Without the service or product, then it is a pyramid and it is not legal. In addition to being illegal, it will collapse, and everyone except a few people at the top, will lose everything.
You should ask yourself, what you are expecting to get out of it? Do you need to achieve a six figure income within a few years? Many people have been able to do that, because the structure of MLM allows you to leverage the action of other people, which is a general wealth principle, but the odds are, you may never earn six figures per year; and if you do, it might take ten or more years. Maybe you will get there, but there are no guarantees.
On the other hand, you may realize that there is zero possibility of earning six figures at your present place of employment, therefore joining a network marketing program as a way of making some extra money, could be a good decision. You do not usually need to dedicate but a few or possibly several hours a week to it, at the most. You might like it and go on to grow your downline to a size that lets your quit your day job.
The great thing about network marketing is you are not limited to earning commissions only from you direct customers (referrals). You make commissions from the referrals of your referrals; and then from their referrals, on down the line, for a number of levels deep. In time, it can grow quite large, giving you very nice monthly residual payments; but it can only happen if you work. You can’t expect others to do the work for you.
It takes time, as well. A common complaint is, it can be slow at first, but what business can you open that is going to thrive starting on day one? Regular businesses may go 5 years before they see a penny profit. Some MLM millionaires tell stories about how they almost quit because it was slow in the beginning, and how important it is to invest time to build momentum.
With proper MLM training from someone who is experienced and successful, you should be able to do well if you choose to join MLM.
